The Emily Finn National Scholarship Fund was born out of a profound commitment to ensure that tragedy does not have the final word. Established by the Youth Peace and Justice Foundation (formerly The Uvalde Foundation For Kids), in partnership with the American Ballet Studio In Bayport, NY; this initiative was created in the wake of an act of youth gun violence that claimed the life of an extraordinary young woman.

The Emily Finn National Scholarship

We believe that the arts are a sanctuary—a place where peace is practiced and character is built. This fund exists to protect that sanctuary. By providing financial stability to dancers and their studio, we ensure that the “Seeds of Hope” planted by Emily continue to grow, flourish, and inspire a safer, more compassionate world.

Honoring the Legacy of Emily Finn
This scholarship is a living tribute to Emily Finn, an 18-year-old college freshman from West Sayville, New York. For over six years, Emily was a cornerstone of the American Ballet Studio in Bayport. She was a dancer of rare talent, reaching the pinnacle of student achievement when she performed the role of the Dew Drop Fairy in The Nutcracker.

Beyond her grace on stage, Emily was a mentor and a natural leader. She spearheaded student-run fundraisers and choreography workshops, always prioritizing the growth and happiness of younger dancers. She embodied:
* Discipline: A relentless pursuit of technical excellence.
* Compassion: A heart dedicated to community service and mentorship.
* Leadership: The courage to guide others through art.
Through this fund, Emily’s light continues to guide the next generation of performers.
